Lord in heaven that's a bright one. Today I wanted to tie my color to a song, so I'll go with "Walk in the Park" by Beach House. I'm not sure why that song is my choice because the color seems so aggressively bright and the song more mellow, but at the same time they seem fitting. The energy of the color feels like it translates to a bouncy jaunt through a park in the dead heat of the summer. You wouldn't find this color in winter. Strictly spring and summer, in my opinion. (I thought about anchoring this color to azaleas, but that seemed too easy.) Even in listening to the song as I write, there's a matching pulse to each of these two elements, these two sensory entities that otherwise would not be associated with one another. But here they exist, in my mind, co-habitating. It's a little gloomy here in ATL right now, but earlier it was a bright, hot pink, Beach House-y day as I sat on someone else's back porch with someone else's baby and someone else's dogs, shaking toys and talking about nonsense with a five and a half month old child. I think I'll start calling these kinds of days hot pink days-pulsing with energy and bopping along in our lives. I hope tomorrow is a hot pink day for you. Let me know if it is! I'd love to hear about it.
